Iranian revolutionary guards say they attacked a US base in Saudi Arabia

Although there was no immediate confirmation of the attack from Saudi Arabia, the country’s Defense Ministry had previously reported intercepting six ballistic missiles heading towards Al-Kharj

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard, the ideological army of the Islamic Republic, claimed on Saturday night (14) to have launched a salvo of missiles against American forces stationed at an important base in Al-Kharj, Saudi Arabia.

The Guard stated that the base is used to equip “F-35 and F-16 fighter jets and also as a fuel depot for tanker trucks.”

Although there was no immediate confirmation of the attack from Saudi Arabia, the country’s Defense Ministry had previously reported intercepting six ballistic missiles heading towards Al-Kharj.

Saudi Arabia said it had already intercepted missiles and drones launched at the base during the ongoing war in the Middle East.

Riyadh is a close ally of the United States and hosts a large number of American troops. The city has been the target of attacks by Iran, including against its vast oil industry, but has so far not mobilized its armed forces against the Islamic Republic.

Saudi officials have condemned Iran’s attacks on its Persian Gulf neighbors as “reprehensible.”
