Colombia will ask the US to lift sanctions to resume trade with Venezuela

Colombia’s Minister of Mines and Energy, Edwin Palma, said this Saturday that he will meet with the United States government on Monday to request the lifting of sanctions and resume trade relations with Venezuela.

In a publication on X, Palma also said that licenses had been approved to resume LPG imports from Venezuela of 1.26 million gallons per month.

The minister said that Venezuelan oil company PDVSA expressed the intention to terminate the contract with Colombian energy conglomerate Ecopetrol over the Antonio Ricaurte pipeline, saying that there is not enough investment to repair the pipeline.
