Representatives of the company have acted strongly in recent days to try to empty an assembly scheduled for this Monday (16), in São Paulo. The league intends to bring together some of the main teams from series A and B of the Brazilian Championship.
Part of the contacts were made by Francisco Mendes, son of the minister of the Federal Supreme Court, who has great influence in the confederation. He is in charge of the IDP, an institution that has a contract to carry out training courses at the CBF.
They received calls from him or from members of the CBF representing Vasco, Botafogo, Novorizontino, Chapecoense, Ceará, Goiás, Figueirense and CSA, among others.
Despite the pressure, the clubs are confirming their presence at the meeting.
The FFU, which brings together most of the teams from Série A and B of the Brazilian Championship —among them, Botafogo, Corinthians, Cruzeiro and Internacional—, chose to negotiate broadcasting rights with several communication companies such as Amazon, Record and YouTube.
And Libra, another commercial bloc with Flamengo, Palmeiras, São Paulo and Santos, sold the rights in a single contract with Globo.
