Strikers Endrick, 19, and Rayan, 19, and midfielder Gabriel Sara, 26, were the main additions to coach Carlo Ancelotti’s squad list, released this Monday (16), at the CBF headquarters, in Rio de Janeiro, for the friendlies against France and Croatia, on March 26 and 31, the last before the Italian finalizes his list for the 2026 World Cup.
The clash with the French will be at Gillette Stadium, in Boston, at 5pm (Brasília time). The match with the Croatians will take place at the Camping World Stadium, in Orlando, at 9pm (Brasília time).
Despite Neymar’s expectations, he was left off the coach’s list. Although he has not yet called up the athlete since he was hired to manage the Brazilian team in May last year, Ancelotti did not rule out the possibility of counting on the striker at the World Cup.
“Neymar can be in the World Cup. If he can reach the World Cup 100%, he can be. Why didn’t I call him in this squad? Because he’s not 100% and I need 100% players. But as I said, the final list is another speech. So, Neymar has to keep working, playing, and demonstrating his qualities and good physical condition”, said the commander.
The final call-up for the World Cup is scheduled for May 18th.
After this FIFA date, the technical committee of the Brazilian team will meet to define the pre-list for the World Cup, with a deadline of May 11th for sending it to the clubs. In total, up to 55 players can be included in this broader list.
On May 25th, the cast begins preparation at Granja Comary, in Rio de Janeiro. On May 31st, the team will play a friendly against Panama, at Maracanã, as they say goodbye to the country before heading to the United States, scheduled for June 1st.
Already on American soil, Brazil will play its last game before the World Cup, against Egypt, on the 6th. Their debut in the World Cup will be on the 13th, against Morocco. Then, they face Haiti, on the 19th, and close the first phase against Scotland, on the 24th.
