The image from the first results

The results so far (the polls closed at approximately 22:00 Greek time) paint a picture that is considered a barometer in view of the presidential elections of 2027 and this picture is the consolidation of the power of the Far Right and the National Rally (RN) at least at the level of local government.

Tellingly, the Far Right easily managed to keep the largest city it already controlled, re-electing the mayor of Perpignan, and to be tied with the local left in Marseille, France’s second largest city and a traditional stronghold of leftist political forces.

At the same time, traditional parties and the levers of the left trend show dynamic cities mainly in the North, while in large urban areas like Paris, the contests remain ambiguous with voters moving in all directions.

Everyone says they are satisfied

Representatives of the extreme right declared themselves satisfied with the first results, just as representatives of the radical leftist party France Insubordinate, as well as the Socialist party, declared themselves satisfied with their own election results.
