The United Arab Emirates’ General Civil Aviation Authority announced the temporary and total closure of the country’s airspace as ‘an exceptional precautionary measure’ amid the rapid evolution of developments in the region, the state news agency reported on Tuesday (local time, still Monday in Brasília).
The United Arab Emirates Ministry of Defense said early Tuesday that it was acting in response to Iran’s missile and drone threats.
