Modern washing machines allow you to wash towels at 40 degrees Celsius. However, if one of the household members is sick, new or borrowed towels should be washed at 60 degrees Celsius. Scientists point out that, apart from the temperature itself, the washing time is very important. For detergents to be effective, a cycle lasting at least an hour is required. This is the only way to be sure that the towels will be perfectly clean after washing, without germs and unpleasant odors.

It is worth remembering that most electricity is consumed when washing water when heating the water. Classically, the cheapest laundry is at night. Between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m., the G12 night tariff applies. However, if you don’t mind turning on a noisy washing machine at night, you can also do it during the day. The lower tariff is also valid between 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. It may also be slightly cheaper to do laundry on weekends. The most expensive laundry is between 6:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m., when there is an energy peak.
Remember, however, that people using the G11 tariff do not have a division into cheaper and more expensive hours. In their case, the fee is fixed and depends on the operator. Variable fees are available for the G12 and G13 tariffs.
