The governor (Republicans) sanctioned a bill, this Tuesday (17), which makes the vocal performance of the national anthem mandatory in all public and private elementary and secondary education establishments in the state of .
The measure will come into effect from this Tuesday.
The national anthem must be sung at least once a week, preferably on Fridays, before the start of school activities.
The school board may change the date as an adjustment to the school calendar, as long as the anthem is played once a week.
The law also provides for the playing of the anthem on the working day before September 7th.
The project was proposed by state deputies Lucas Bove (PL), Gil Diniz (PL), Major Mecca (PL), Tomé Abduch (Republicans) and Dirceu Dalben (Citizenship).
