Civil Police investigation indicated Geraldo Leite Rosa Neto as responsible for the death of his wife, Gisele Alves Santana
The São Paulo Civil Police indicted this Tuesday (17) lieutenant colonel Geraldo Leite Rosa Neto for feminicide and procedural fraud in the case of death of his partner, military police officer Gisele Alves Santana. The information was given by the victim’s family lawyer, José Miguel Silva Junior, to the Brazil Agency.
Gisele was found with a gunshot to the headon February 18, in the apartment where the couple lived. The lieutenant colonel, who was at the scene, called for help and reported the case to authorities as a suicide. Subsequently, the record was changed to suspicious death. The victim’s family contested the version of suicide from the beginning.
Necroscopic reports carried out by the Legal Medical Institute (IML) on Gisele’s body pointed out blunt injuries to the face and cervical region. Such injuries are result of digital pressure and excoriation compatible with nail stigmai.e. caused by nail.
The latest report is dated March 7, one day after the victim’s body was exhumed. However, in the autopsy report on February 19, the day after the police officer’s death, there was already mention of injuries to the face and neck on the right side.
In interviews with Brazil Agencyo lawyer José Miguel Silva Junior stated that the marks found on the victim’s neckalong with others evidencecorroborated the feminicide crime thesis.
Other clues
In testimony, a neighboring witness said he heard a gunshot at 7:28 a.m. that day. The lieutenant colonel called the police at 7:57 am. The lawyer draws attention to the almost half an hour break so that Geraldo could ask for help.
Silva Junior also mentioned the photo of the victim with the gun in his handtaken by rescuers. He explained that, in the image, the victim has the weapon in his hand, which would be uncommon in cases of suicide.
Furthermore, the lawyer highlighted that three female police officers went to the couple’s apartment to clean hours after the occurrence, which has already been confirmed in statements.
The lieutenant colonel’s defense does not confirm the indictment. THE Brazil Agency contacted the Public Security Secretariat and the Public Ministry and is awaiting a response.
