The former coach received support from the national leadership of his party, Podemos, to run for the Senate for Tocantins this year. He was in the state and reaffirmed his desire to launch Luxembourg’s candidacy.
“Vanderlei Luxemburgo is my senator in Tocantins. He is a prepared name, with history, management capacity and commitment to the development of the state.”, stated Abreu.
Born in Nova Iguaçu (RJ), Luxemburgo lives and has properties in Tocantins. In 2022, he considered running for the same position, but did not have the approval of his party at the time, the PSB.
“I don’t want to move from Brazil, I want to change Brazil. I want to change my Tocantins. I’ve done a lot for national sport and I feel that serving the state where I live, where I generate jobs, is my objective”, says Luxemburgo.
