The Prime Minister guarantees that he has the guarantee of the European Commission that Portugal “will not lose or return” any funds from the Resolution and Resilience Plan (PRR) for projects that were not carried out due to the storms.

Luís Montenegro, who was speaking at the end of the European Council in Brussels, Belgium, says that there is a “full availability” of the European Commission to find the necessary mechanisms so that Portugal does not lose funding for the Resolution and Resilience Plan (PRR).

“There is a guarantee between the Government and the president of the European Commission that Portugal will not lose or return funds”, he says.

Without saying how, he guarantees that it will be “under the rules”.

The Prime Minister showed, at the meeting on the war in the Middle East, the “devastating effects” of the “extreme climate phenomenon” that devastated the country. “The dimension was not fully known” among the Member States, he says.

Montenegro also highlights the solidarity of the 27.
