Kuwait warns of drone impact against a refinery while attacks continue in the Emirates and Bahrain
The Kuwait Oil Corporation reported this Friday the impact of drones on a refinery, while the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain reported new attacks on their territory, 21 days after the start of the war in the Middle East.
According to the official Kuwaiti agency, the Mina Al-Ahmadi refinery, attacked the day before, was the target of new drone hits that caused a fire in some of its units, with no victims reported. The Kuwaiti military had previously reported that its air defenses had intercepted missiles and drones that penetrated its airspace. The National Petroleum Company said on Thursday that two of its main refineries, Mina Al Ahmadi and Mina Abdullah, were attacked by drones that sparked fires.
The air defenses of the United Arab Emirates responded this Friday to the entry of Iranian missiles and drones into its airspace, according to a statement from the Abu Dhabi Ministry of Defense, in which the number of intercepted drones was not specified. The Saudi Defense Ministry also reported in its X account that four drones were neutralized in the eastern region of the country.
Bahrain, for its part, reported a fire in a warehouse “caused by Iranian aggression,” according to the Ministry of the Interior, which shortly after updated it with the extinguishing of the fire. The Bahrain Ministry of Defense assures that, since the start of the war on February 28, its air defenses have intercepted 139 missiles and 238 drones coming from Iran. (Efe)
