Palumbo and Rufino will be Podemos’ names for the Senate in SP

Renata Abreu, president of the party, says that the acronym will define 1 of the 2 names for the dispute and confirms support for governor Tarcísio de Freitas

The national president of Podemos, , stated, this Monday (April 27, 2026), in São Paulo, that the party will work with 2 names to run for the Senate for the State: the federal deputy and the businessman Geraldo Rufino.

“We have 2 names in the party, which are Delegate Palumbo and Geraldo Rufino. One of the 2 will be chosen as a candidate for senator”, he told journalists after participating in a dinner promoted by the Esfera group.

Renata also confirmed Podemos’s support for Governor Tarcísio de Freitas in the State. According to her, the party maintains frequent dialogue and positively evaluates her management.

“We are with Governor Tarcísio”he stated. She also said that the party presented to the governor its intention to launch its own candidacy for the Senate.

When commenting on the national scenario, Renata declared that Podemos’s current profile is more aligned with the center-right camp, although the decision on presidential support depends on internal consultations with leaders.
