Ventura reveals name nominated by Chega for the Constitutional Court

Lisbon Court of Appeal rejects Ventura's appeal and confirms order to remove posters

André Ventura revealed this Sunday the name proposed by Chega for the Constitutional Court. There are three vacancies in the TC to be filled, but the parties have not yet reached an agreement.

The leader of Chega reveals that the name indicated by the party is that of judge Luís Brites Lameiras, “a man of dialogue with good values”.

“An added value of prestige for the Constitutional Court”, summarizes André Ventura.

Two names for the TC are indicated by the PSD. They are missing because they resigned and need to be replaced. The third member, still in office, arrived at the Constitutional Committee on the recommendation of the PS. The socialists demand to be able to indicate again who will replace this personality.

However, the PSDB is studying how to reflect the composition of Parliament in the choices for the Constitutional, which would imply elect a judge nominated by Chega.

The PS rejects, however, giving up the possibility of indicating a name and it even requires the PSD to give up one of the vacancies to Chega.
