The initiative, launched by an Icelandic airline, is to show that the country is so beautiful that not even the clumsiest photographers can take ugly photos of Iceland.
The airline Icelandair launched an unusual project that promises to transform the lack of talent in photography into a unique travel opportunity.
The initiative, titled Really Bad Photographerlooks for candidates who are admittedly “bad photographers” to prove that, in Iceland, even those who have no knack for photography can capture impressive images.
The challenge is simple: the selected participant will win a 10-day trip to Icelandwith all expenses paid, in addition to a prize of 50 thousand dollars (about 43 thousand euros). In return, you will have to document the experience through photographs and videos, showing that even shaky or slightly out-of-focus photographs can highlight the natural beauty of the destination.
The campaign is aimed exclusively at people with no professional experience in photography and no significant interest in the area. On the other hand, candidates must feel comfortable in front of the cameraas the project involves creating video content and media exposure.
Additional requirements include be over 21 years oldhave a valid passport and availability to travel not only to Iceland, but also to the United Kingdom and the United States, within the scope of the campaign.
The application process is relatively simple: interested parties must fill out an online form with six questions and send a video of up to 60 seconds, in which they share memorable episodes of their photographic experiences.
In addition to the trip and financial reward, the winner will also have the opportunity to integrate a global campaign of the airline, being able to achieve international visibility.
