Born on March 16, 1935, in São Roque (SP), José Juca de Oliveira Santos began his artistic career after abandoning law school to dedicate himself to theater, a decision taken after a vocational test that indicated his talent for the performing arts.
His career began on stage, with a stint at Brazilian Comedy Theater (TBC), where he worked on productions such as Death of the Salesman e The Seed. Recognition came early on, with awards and invitations to join important groups in the theater scene.
On television, he participated in more than 30 soap operas and miniseries over the decades. He debuted on TV Globo in 1973 and was part of the cast of productions such as Saramandaia (1976), Wounded Beast (1993), Tower of Babel (1998) e Or Clone (2001), in addition to more recent works such as Avenida Brasil (2012) e The Other Side of Paradise (2017).
Among his best-known roles is that of geneticist Dr. Albieriin The Clone, a central character in a plot that discussed human cloning and which became one of the milestones of his television career.
