Sonia Guajajara will run for re-election for SP and will leave ministry

The Minister of Indigenous Peoples, Sonia Guajajara (PSOL), confirmed that she will run for re-election as federal deputy for São Paulo. She must leave command of the department between March 30th and April 2nd.

This will be the second election contested by the deputy. The minister’s first term began in the 2023 legislature, after she was also elected as a federal deputy.

The tendency is for Sonia Guajajara to be replaced by Eloy Terenaexecutive secretary of the ministry.
