Nurse Lúcia da Silva Schmitt died last Sunday (22), aged 86. Lúcia was a nurse at the Bárbara Heliodora Maternity Hospital, and also worked on the administrative board of and was administrative director of the Santa Juliana Hospital.
The nurse also contributed to the training of new professionals as a substitute teacher for the Nursing course at the Federal University of Acre (Ufac).

It is with deep regret that we announce the death of Lúcia da Silva Schmitt, a nurse whose career was marked by dedication, sensitivity and commitment to caring for others. Born on September 15, 1939, she built a life based on service and love for others.
A respected professional in the health sector, Lúcia worked as a nurse at the Bárbara Heliodora Maternity Hospital, was a member of the administrative board of the Acre Hospital Foundation (Fundhacre) and also served as administrative director of the Santa Juliana Hospital. Throughout his career, he stood out for his competence, ethics and significant contribution to strengthening health services in the state.
Committed to training new professionals, she was a substitute professor of nursing at the Federal University of Acre (UFAC), leaving an important legacy also in the area of education.
More than her professional performance, Lúcia will be remembered for her example of generosity, faith and dedication to her family — values that marked her life and will remain alive in the memory of everyone who had the privilege of living with her.
