Against the “left-wing elite”, Ventura spoke at a European event transformed into a campaign for Orbán

André Ventura records a message of support for Viktor Orbán

Budapest was the venue for the Conservative Political Action Conference and the “first Grand Patriotic Assembly”.

The Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) took place for the fifth time in Budapest.

It brought together almost 700 participants from 51 countries, including the Argentine President, Javier Milei, the president of the Spanish far-right party Vox, Santiago Abascal, or the leader of the German far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD), Alice Weidel.

And among which André Ventura, leader of Chega, who spoke on Saturday at CPAC.

In an intervention lasting around 15 minutes, in English, the Chega leader thanked the Prime Minister of Hungary, Viktor Orbán, for being “a symbol of resistance” to freedom in Europe, which he considered to be under attack by European institutions.

“Brussels is not being the light of freedom now, Brussels is now a symbol of censorship and dictatorship (…) Us we want a great Europe againbut today Brussels is fighting against Europe and against European sovereignty”, he accused.

As an example, he referred to the digital services law as a way of “limiting freedom of expression and implementing censorship on social media” and criticized the community threat to cut funds to countries like Hungary.

“If we have to choose between Brussels’ money and our conscience and our freedom and our values, I propose that we fight for our values, for our freedoms and that we defeat the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, and all European powers”, he appealed.

In his speech, Ventura stated that, in percentage terms, Portugal was the country “that received the most immigrants in the last ten years in Europe”telling conference attendees that if they visit Lisboa, probably won’t recognize the city, because it will look like they are “in Pakistan, Saudi Arabia or Morocco”.

“Us We were never against immigrationbut we cannot accept that this immigration destroys Europe’s identity. So we proposed and the Government accepted: all those who come illegally to Europe must know that we are going to send them back to their countries, because they do not belong to Europe”, he said.

And he said again that the crime has increased in several European cities because of “uncontrolled immigration”.

At the end of his speech, he returned the greeting of Orbán – that compared Ventura and Chega to “a spring” in Portugal -, with a Hungarian expression.

“The victory will be ours. You have to believe in it, this fight will be difficult, but in the end we will defeat them”

Support for Órban

This Monday, also in Budapest, “the first Great Patriotic Assembly“. Which actually, sums it up, was a Viktor Orbán campaign actionPrime Minister of Hungary and candidate for elections in April.

Leaders of several European far-right parties met in the capital of Hungary.

This time, André Ventura did not take the stage, but spoke via a video message, also recorded in Budapest. Repeating the ideas of “immigration-related problems”. And he appealed to all patriots to join together.

Viktor Orbán, win the elections! We, patriots, have to change our countries”, concluded Ventura, in a video, seen by a few hundred people at an outdoor event.

On stage were Matteo Salvini, Santiago Abascal and Marine Le Pen, among others.

Le Pen stressed that Orbán “never backed down” on issues of migration, identity and sovereignty.

Viktor Orbán himself was the last to speak on stage: “The failures of the liberal and globalist elite in Brussels are visible: economic decline, collapsing industry; the Green Pact is a total failure; the migration situation is irreversible and now an energy crisis. With each passing day, the left-wing elite in Brussels grows weaker. On the other side, there are us, the national patriots, who grow stronger every day.”
