According to the latest analyses, the past eleven years have been the warmest since records began. At times, the 1.5 degree threshold that was aimed for in the Paris Climate Agreement has already been exceeded. Even with consistent implementation of current climate protection measures, warming is likely to be well above two degrees by the end of the century. But what does it mean if we are heading for a warming of two degrees Celsius compared to the pre-industrial era?
