After finally managing to join the State Government in the 2026 elections, the mayor of Rio Branco, Tião Bocalom, stated in an exclusive interview with ContilNet this Wednesday (25) that he is not in a rush to decide who will be his vice president.

The mayor understands that his priority now is to define the party’s slates of federal and state deputies, in addition to the alliances he intends to build in the future.

“There is no discussion about vice, for now. We will discuss this in August. Not now”, he stated.

Regarding the fact that his opponents are looking for a vice-president, Bocalom said that his strategy is different.

“Now it’s a federal and state ticket. Of course you must have a series of names. My opponents’ strategy is one, and mine is another. There is no name defined yet, and I’m in no rush for that. There’s going to be a lot of water under the bridge. We’ll see how it goes, who falls and who rises. Suddenly, someone says they’re with you and then they’re not. So, there’s still a lot to happen”, he highlighted.

Regarding the plaques, Bocalom commented, on the day of the inauguration of the Mamédio Bittar viaduct, last week, that, but did not specify who these figures are.

Mailza is about to define its deputy

The one who is ahead in the race to define a vice-president is Mailza Assis (Progressistas). The vice-governor has already announced that the name will be from , the party that is part of her support base. There is a good chance that it will be former deputy Jéssica Sales, but the party should make the announcement this week, as stated by the party’s president, Vagner Sales.
