The Public Ministry of the State of São Paulo (MP-SP), through the Special Group for the Repression of Economic Offenses (GEDEC), carries out this Thursday morning (27) the Parallel Tax Operation, against a scheme corruption and tax fraud linked to São Paulo State Finance Department (Sefaz).

A action complies with 22 search and seizure warrants in the cities of São Paulo, Campinas, Vinhedo and São José dos Campos. The investigation investigates a structured corruption scheme aimed at the improper manipulation of accumulated ICMS-ST credits, with possible payment of illicit benefits and money laundering crime by São Paulo government officials.

The action is carried out at addresses linked to servers full in different bodies of the SP Finance Departmentincluding the Regional Tax Office of Capital II (Lapa), the Regional Tax Office of Capital III (Butantã), the Regional Tax Office 12 (DRT-12 – ABCD), the Regional Tax Office 14 (DRT-14 – Osasco) and the Inspection Directorate (DIFIS).

The operation is supported by the Special Action Group to Combat Organized Crime (Gaeco), CyberGaeco, the Interinstitutional Asset Recovery Committee (Cira) and the Military Police. The objective is to gather evidence and dismantle the criminal organization being investigated.
