Federal deputy Alfredo Gaspar (AL), rapporteur of the INSS CPMI, announced this Wednesday (25) his affiliation with the PL and became part of the party structure in Alagoas. The movement was accompanied by a direct political signal to Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ), pre-candidate for President in 2026.
Gaspar stated that he accepted a “call” from Flávio when he assumed the state presidency of the party. “In response to a call from the senator and future president of the Republic, Flávio Bolsonaro, I assume the state presidency of the PL in Alagoas, with autonomy and independence to strengthen the party, our project for the state of Alagoas and the project of a fair and free country for Brazilians”, he wrote.
The change occurs amid the work of the CPMI that investigates billion-dollar fraud in INSS benefits, placing the parliamentarian in a strategic position in the political debate. The rapprochement with the PL adds an electoral layer to the institutional role it plays in the commission.
Gaspar was elected federal deputy in 2022 for União Brasil and built a career in the Justice system before entering politics. He worked for more than two decades as a prosecutor at the Alagoas Public Ministry, where he also held the position of attorney general.
Affiliation to the PL reinforces the party’s strategy of expanding regional presence and consolidating platforms for 2026, at the same time as it brings together figures working in sensitive investigations in the political field linked to Bolsonarism.
