The share of legal professionals who use it daily or weekly grew from 55% to 76% between 2025 and 2026. This is according to a survey carried out by Jusbrasil, Trybe and ITS Rio in partnership with sections of the (Brazilian Bar Association) in São Paulo, Paraná, Bahia, Goiás, Pernambuco and Espírito Santo.
More than 1,800 students, lawyers and other professionals in the field were interviewed through a form distributed on digital channels of the sections and other institutions. The confidence level is 95%, with a margin of error of two percentage points, according to the study.
For 76% of professionals, writing procedural documents was the main work carried out with generative AI tools. Legal research (59%), writing opinions and memoranda (58%) and analyzing and reviewing contracts (56%) come next. The answers to this question were multiple choice and therefore total more than 100%.
The main areas of practice of the professionals who responded are civil law and civil procedure (24%), labor and social security law (17%) and family and succession law (11%).
Professionals from general or full service areas were also interviewed. (8%), administrative law and public management (7%), criminal and criminal procedure law (6%), business, corporate law and mergers and acquisitions (5%), consumer law (4%), real estate law (4%), tax law (3%) and digital law (3%), among others.
The survey also analyzed the impacts of using tools on working hours and the well-being of professionals.
Time savings are cited by 84% of participants, and 37% report saving more than four days of work per month. Technical improvement in the work performed is mentioned by 91%, while 75% say that the use of tools improved professional well-being.
