Satinského Street in Bratislava was barricaded again. The mayor of the Staré Mesto district, Matej Vagač, informed about this on the social network, who considers the situation unacceptable.
He clarified that the city district already carried out state expert supervision on the spot and called on the capital city, as the administrator of communication, to remove the roadblock without delay. “We will insist that Satinského Street remains passable for the public,” said the mayor of Staré Mesto.
He emphasized that it is a public purpose communication which it should serve people as a natural pedestrian connection between Dunajská and Cintorínská streets – to the hospital, public transport and other institutions. “This fact has already been clearly confirmed in the past, and roadblocks were also removed based on the decision of the road administrative body,” reminded Vagač. He perceives the fact that the gate appeared again as incredible arrogance and disrespect for valid decisions on the part of the owners.
Satinského Street in Bratislava was reopened in January, when, years later, the fence and gate, which for a long time prevented pedestrians from walking through this street, were removed.
Satinského Street is located in Bratislava’s Old Town near the University Hospital – St. Michael. Since 2015, it has been named after the actor and comedian Július Satinski. It is a pedestrian link between Dunajská and Cintorínská streets. However, it was blocked by the owners of the land under the road, because they didn’t want people walking under their apartment building.
