The Minister of Planning and Budget, Simone Tebet, had her PSB affiliation ceremony on Friday night (27). The event took place at the Legislative Assembly of the State of São Paulo (Alesp). Tebet leaves the MDB and joins the party to run for a seat in the senate in São Paulo in this year’s elections.

During the ceremony, the minister said that This will be your last party. “I, in the final oath, say that I am convinced that this is my second and last home”, he clarified.

Allies assess that the movement can strengthen the construction of a ticket with Lula in the race for re-election and Haddad for the Palácio dos Bandeirantes.

At the end of his Tebet speech emphasized its alliance with the Lula government. “With love, ethics and courage, let’s together help President Lula’s government to elect as many parliamentarians as possible here (São Paulo) and elsewhere in Brazil”, he concluded.

The act of affiliation was attended by party figures such as the national president of the PSB, João Campos, the vice-president of the Republic, Geraldo Alckmin (PSB), the minister of Entrepreneurship Márcio França (Entrepreneurship), the leader of the PSB in the Federal Chamber, Jonas Donizette, the president of the PSB-SP, Caio França, and the president of the São Paulo PSB, Tabata Amaral, as well as councilors, mayors, vice-presidents and pre-candidates.

Last Saturday morning (21) PSB had already confirmed membership by Simone Tebet. “Your decision honors our party and enhances a political group that aims to build the country’s future,” said the PSB in a statement.

In a post on social media, the minister thanked her former party MDB for almost 30 years of work and will now build, together with the PSB, “the country of our best dreams”.
