was targeted on March 24, which affected the cloud infrastructure hosting the Europa online platform, with initial findings suggesting that data was taken from those sites, the Commission announced today.
The incident was quickly brought under control, it said in a statement, adding that the full impact of the attack had yet to be investigated.
“Internal systems were not affected by the cyber attack,” the EU executive said.
The Commission did not name any group or individual responsible for the cyber attack.
