The vice-governor of , Felício Ramuth, announced this Saturday (28) that he will join the . His departure from , the party to which he had been a member since 2022, was already anticipated by those around him due to the friction between him and the party’s national president, .
The governor (Republicans) expressed his desire to the state government. As published by the Panel, Kassab told the governor that in this case he should notify Ramuth.
“I receive with great honor the invitation from M DB to join this great team, which has leaders such as Ricardo Nunes, Baleia Rossi and Michel Temer”, wrote Ramuth on social media.
Ramuth and Kassab’s relationship deteriorated more than a year ago, when the president of the PSD, and then Tarcísio’s Government Secretary, began to openly declare his intention to be Tarcísio’s vice-president in 2026.
The post was seen as strategic so that Kassab could run for governor of São Paulo in 2030, a desire that the PSD president had already expressed when composing Tarcísio’s ticket in 2022. In practice, the most incisive stance.
In January, Tarcísio publicly showed his weariness by saying that Kassab has “his own opinions”. At the time, the then secretary said in an interview that the governor should have his own identity in relation to Jair Bolsonaro (PL) — stating that one thing is gratitude and another, submission. Tarcísio replied that his friendship with the former president is not.
Faced with the wear and tear between the two – and the possibility of Ramuth leaving the PSD –, the MDB began to, as shown by the Sheet in February.
Even without the vice-governor, the PSD has already agreed that it will support Tarcísio’s re-election in 2026. The governor’s decision also sidelines state deputy André do Prado (PL), president of Alesp (Legislative Assembly of São Paulo), who sought to be the candidate for vice-governor in these elections.
There was speculation, among state government officials, that the investigations against Ramuth could make Tarcísio change his mind. People close to the governor believe that the news had a rebound effect, which practically confirmed the Chief Executive’s decision to keep him as vice president.
According to an advisor, Tarcísio understood that the disclosure of the case was the result of a leak to harm Ramuth. Publicly, the governor said that it did not affect the composition of the electoral slate.
Once Tarcísio’s vice-president has been defined, it remains for the governor’s pre-campaign to hammer out who will be nominated for the Senate. One of the two vacancies will be contested by federal deputy and former Secretary of Public Security Guilherme Derrite (PP). The other, nominated by the PL, should go to federal deputy Mário Frias or the vice-mayor of São Paulo, Coronel Mello Araújo.
Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ), pre-candidate for the Presidency of the Republic, said that the party should define the name on Monday (30).
