A “super intense” smell in the Dragão Arena locker room led to the hospitalization of the coach Ricardo Costa and player Christian Moga, from Sporting’s handball team,before the classic with FC Porto.

The incident, which happened this Saturday before the start of the game, would also have affected other members of Sporting, who presented signs of feeling unwell.

Delegates from the meeting went to the locker room and described the odor like “sleeper”.

Sporting source describes a “super intense” smellsimilar to “bleach or something toxic”, which forced the entire team to leave the locker room.

For now, the origin of the odor is unknown.

Despite the incidents, which led to on-site and subsequent assistance hospitalization of coach Ricardo Costa e MogaSporting entered the field, but under protest considering that normal conditions are not met, according to the Lusa agency.

The case must be analyzed by the competent authorities and bodies.
