Brussels is associated with chocolate, moules frites and rainy weather, the Atomium, the Manneken Pis and the European institutions. It is less well known that there are excellent museums in the Belgian capital and that the first regular passenger train journey on the mainland started here, which is already real specialist knowledge. You can experience both when visiting Train World, a railway museum in the north of the metropolis, located on the route to Mechelen. On May 5, 1835, this Flemish city was the destination of three trains departing from Brussels with a total of 900 passengers on board, a journey lasting around 50 minutes that revolutionized travel on the continent.
