The act of affiliation took place in São Bernardo do Campo, a city in the ABC region where he was mayor twice. Around 800 people attended the event, including the mayor of São Paulo, Ricardo Nunes (MDB), and authorities from cities in the region.
“I already knew the MDB and its history. My choice is also based on the example of Mayor Ricardo Nunes, with whom I had the opportunity to work and learn. I take with me the same public spirit and the same desire as when I entered public life”, said Morando at the affiliation.
He had been without a party since he decided to leave the PSDB, at the end of 2024, in the context of the process of emptying the party.
In the election, Morando must be under his control and is one of the hallmarks of the Nunes administration.
