Lula sanctions project that expands paternity leave – 03/30/2026 – Panel

The president sanctions, this Tuesday (31), the project that extends paternity leave from the current five to 20 days.

The expectation is that the text will be sanctioned without vetoes. from the left and right.

The ceremony should be small, in Lula’s own office, but will be attended by parents and children.

It is expected that parents from different professions and also adoptive parents will speak at the event.

The project foresees a gradual increase in paternity leave, which is currently 5 days. In 2027, it will be 10 days. In 2028, 15 days. And in 2029, 20 days.
