The announcement was made this Tuesday, around a month and a half after Luís Neves left office to join the Government.
The Civil Police already has a national director. This is Carlos Cabreiro and he succeeds Luís Neves who in 23 February took office as Minister of Internal Administration.
The name confirms the intention expressed by the guardianship minister, Rita Júdice, that the new director be someone from within the institution.
