In Bratislava, a protest march of the cultural community named “Great cultural mobilization! They have never played like this before”. It starts at Náměstí slobody. Organizers from the Open Culture platform call the current state of the resort a crisis. They criticize that the Ministry of Culture has not been doing what it is supposed to do for two and a half years.

“Instead of supporting culture, it silences uncomfortable voices, lays people off en masse, and takes every last penny from organizations and projects,” stated the platform for the march. According to her, it threatens all workers in culture, from lighting, wardrobe, technicians to writers, actors and production workers.
The organizers claim that everything that the Department of Culture is supposed to protect is falling into disrepair. They also question the expediency of using funds intended for culture. They pointed to the role of culture in society, which they say names conflicts, challenges power and asks questions.
