The epicenter of the 5.0-magnitude earthquake was in Ibaraki prefecture, adjacent to Tokyo, at a depth of about 50 kilometersspecified the Japanese Meteorological Office. The US Geological Survey (USGS) set the magnitude of Wednesday’s earthquake near Tokyo at 4.9. Information about possible damage or injuries was not immediately known, writes DPA.
