SSP data shows that 29 women were killed in February this year; in the same month last year, the number was 20
The state of São Paulo registered 45% increase no number victims of femicide in February this year, compared to the same month in 2025, going from 20 to 29 women killed. The data was released by São Paulo Public Security Secretariat (SSP).
No year to datethey were 56 women murdered in just two months. The number represents an increase in 33% compared to the previous year, when there were 42 victims of this type of crime in the first two months of the year.
Rape cases reached 1,212 records in February 2026 compared to 1,201 in the same month of 2025, with increase of 11 cases. In January and February, there was a reduction, from 2,487 last year to 2,397 records in 2026that is, 90 fewer cases.
Now the number of intentional homicides there was a drop both in the month and in the accumulated result. They were 179 cases reported in February this year, a drop in 11% compared to February 2025, when there were 201 registrations.
In January and February this year, there were 369 reports of intentional homicide, 11.3% less compared to the same period in 2025, when there were 416 records.
Os robberies followed the same trend, as the number of cases fell from 10 in February last year to cinco in February this year. In the two months, records of this type of crime went from 28 to 12 cases, a drop of 57%.
Robbery and theft
Os robberies in general – including load ea banco – had remains 18.4%going from 14,208 to 11.591in the comparison between February 2025 and 2026.
During the two months, robberies fell 21,4% compared to the same period in 2025, going from 30,180 to 23.719 records. According to the SSP, this is the lowest recorded index since the beginning of the historical series, in 2001.
Os vehicle thefts followed the same downward trend, with 1.382 registrations in February this year compared to 2,250 in the same month last year. In total for the two months, records of this type of crime fell from 4,562 to 2.743.
Os theft in general fell from 44,982 in February 2025 to 42.341 in the same month this year. In total, occurrences rose from 93,008 to 86.567.
