Bratislava was cooking even after dark: The tropical night broke the record, even more heat is coming

Bratislava recorded the highest minimum daily temperature. At the station at Koliba, the temperature did not drop below 26.3 degrees Celsius during the night on Saturday. The previously valid record of August 4, 2017 was 24.8 degrees Celsius. The Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute (SHMÚ) informed about it on the social network.

The night was especially warm in the southwest of the country, especially in the area of the capital. In other locations, there were relatively large differences in temperature at night compared to the day. “In several places, especially in the northern half of the territory, the air temperature was still quite bearable and dropped to values from 17 to 11 degrees Celsius,” meteorologists clarified.

They warned that the heat would continue. “Today, the temperature in the hottest locations will rise to at least 39 degrees Celsius, and tomorrow it will be a little warmer.” they pointed out.
