West Slovak Water Company (ZsVS) draws attention to the possible restriction of drinking water supplies in selected localities, if the abundance of drinking water sources drops to a critical level. Hot weather may worsen the situation in the coming weeks. ZsVS will announce the measures in advance, it reported on its website.
At the same time, he appeals to residents to use drinking water from the public water supply exclusively for drinking and hygiene purposes. It does not recommend its use for watering gardens, lawns, sports fields and public spaces, or for washing motor vehicles.
The water company reminds that filling of swimming pools can be ensured by regulated water supply by tanker. According to water operators, a responsible approach to the consumption of drinking water can contribute to maintaining smooth supplies for all customers even during periods of increased consumption.
ZsVS operates in the districts of Dunajská Streda, Galanta, Šaľa, Levice, Nové Zámky, Nitra, Zlaté Moravce, Topoľčany, Bánovce nad Bebravou, Partizánske and Komárno. As it states on its website, it supplies drinking water to almost 800,000 inhabitants in the villages and cities of western Slovakia. There are public water supply systems in a total of 11 districts.
