The 18th edition of the Slovak Woman of the Year readers’ poll culminated on Friday with a gala evening at the Slovak Philharmonic. During the festive evening in Bratislava’s Reduta, 12 bronze statuettes were handed over.
The Slovak Woman of the Year survey is a prestigious project whose main goal is to make women who participate in the country’s growth as visible as possible. It is a continuation of the event that the weekly Slovenka organized in the past under the title Woman of the Year and Man of the Year. The winners in the individual categories were decided by television viewers in the form of SMS voting, and Slovenka readers by means of coupons and internet voting.
During the gala, the ladies showed off their best gowns. Hana Rapantová and Alena Heribanová came in contrasting white and red dresses, husband and wife Juraj Lelkes and Sisa Sklovska matched and the singer shone in a dress with a plunging necklineLucia Forman Habancová was in costume this time, Lucia Kurilovská chose white.
The spectacular evening was not missed by František Versače Kabrheľ, Silvia Lakatošová, presenter Janka Hospodárová with her partner, had a new haircut and a few shades lighter hair, Karin Majtánová arrived in striking cyclamen and was accompanied by her husband, Romana Tabaková chose dramatic make-up and an elegant black and white dress.
Also this year, former tennis player Dominika Cibulková came, who highlighted her slim figure in a tight burgundy dress. The presence of the Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Finance was a novelty Alena Schillerová of the Czech Republicshe also enjoyed the evening hockey legend Jozef Golonka or head of STVR Martina Flašíková. It was Flašíková who surprised with a change, when she changed her straight hairstyle and her already familiar work uniform – top and pants – to a relaxed curly hairstyle and a black dress with currently very trendy shoes.
