A high-speed boat, allegedly intended for drug trafficking activities, was intercepted by Spanish authorities near the border with Minho.
The vessel, known as “voadora”, was stopped in Salvaterra do Minho, near Monção, when it was traveling in a truck without legal documentation for transport. The operation was conducted by the Guardia Civil, which also confirmed that the boat was not registered or registered in Spain.
More than 10 meters long and estimated to cost around 30 thousand euros, this type of vessel is often associated with drug trafficking due to the high speed it can reach at sea.
According to authorities, the final destination would be Ceuta, a Spanish enclave in North Africa, and the buyer has already been identified. The case has since been referred to units specialized in combating organized crime and drug trafficking, which are continuing the investigation.
