Former banker Daniel Vorcaro completes this Saturday (4) a month in prison amid negotiations for a plea bargain. He was detained as part of the third phase of Operation Compliance Zero.

The movement around a plea bargain began when the Second Panel of the STF formed a majority to maintain Vorcaro’s arrest.
The former banker has already signed a confidentiality agreement with the PF (Federal Police) and the PGR (Attorney General’s Office). This is the first time that two institutions have conducted a whistleblower process together.
As CNN showed, Vorcaro’s defense is working to gather data and documents to be attached to the plea bargain proposal that will be presented. The expectation is that this survey process will last around 45 days, then the deposition phase must begin.
With all the material in hand, the PF will judge whether there are elements that, as the former banker wants, and whether there is news in addition to everything that has already been raised by the investigation, such as messages, emails, financial transactions and names.
The PF expects Vorcaro to present names other than his own, within a context of , in addition to saying whether there was support from politicians for billion-dollar bank frauds and who benefited financially from them. If there is robustness, the plea bargain will take off, say the delegates.
After ending the hearings, Vorcaro’s defense intends to ask that the whistleblower be placed under house arrest or be released with an electronic ankle monitor.
Routine at PF
At the Superintendency, in the South Wing of Brasília, Vorcaro maintains a discreet routine. He is not seen by the police while sunbathing, unlike former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL), who, when he was arrested in the same place, was seen by the agents when he left his cell.
In terms of food, Vorcaro is following the pattern of other inmates: breakfast with bread, milk, coffee and fruit, served in the cell. For lunch and dinner, there is rice, beans, protein and salad. There is also an afternoon snack and supper.
Every day, the prisoner receives visits from his lawyers. The main one, Sérgio Leonardo, is the most frequent and has been going to the Superintendency since March 21, after Vorcaro arrived at the PF. For two Tuesdays in a row, he also welcomed his father, Henrique Vorcaro.
Route to Brasília
Before being transferred to the capital, Vorcaro was detained in São Paulo, where, after a custody hearing, he was held at the Guarulhos (Provisional Detention Center), a pavilion intended mainly for media prisoners and law graduates, and at the Potim II Penitentiary Complex.
It was only on the 6th that Vorcaro was sent to the Federal Penitentiary of Brasília, at the request of the PF.
The former banker spent 13 days in the DF Penitentiary before being transferred to the PF Superintendence, the first step in the denunciation process. Vorcaro was transported by helicopter and was handcuffed at the time of transportation.
