Vienna Dog Days: We saw “Commissioner Rex” again

It was the 1990s. The Internet had not fully arrived in Austria, cell phones were as big as bricks and men’s suits were still cut so that they didn’t squeeze every bit of waist out of the wearer’s waistband undignified. Shortly after the fall of the Iron Curtain, a fresh wind blew the stink between Vienna’s apartment buildings. And right in the middle of this new world is detective inspector Richard “Richie” Moser and his German Shepherd Reginald von Ravenhorst, called Rex. But before we all sink into thoughts of the world 30 years ago, let’s take a quick look at the near future. Commissioner Rex is coming back. The first of six new feature-length episodes can be seen on ORF on April 13th at 8:15 p.m.
