One day after announcing that he is from the Republic, the writer, 67, said this Monday (6) that he will continue until the end of the electoral dispute, that it will be his only foray into politics and that he will not use electoral funds in the campaign.
The statements were made in Rio Verde (GO), on the first day of Tecnoshow, the main agricultural fair in the Center-West of the country. After a talk to a packed auditorium, with more than 600 rural producers, the now presidential candidate told Sheet who decided to enter politics precisely because he “didn’t need power”.
The party stated, this Sunday (5), that Cury, recently affiliated to the party, is a pre-candidate for the Presidency of the Republic in the October elections.
“She [candidatura] goes until the end. Someone with my CV and biography should not enter the theater of politics, a swampy theater where there is a lot of criticism and not a few haters. And several leaders I spoke to, from the most diverse parties, said ‘Doctor Cury, why are you [quer] enter politics? You don’t have to.’ Because I don’t need power, I don’t love power, I’m coming in,” he said.
According to him, participation in the election will be his only one, with no intention of making a political career.
“I’m not a politician, I don’t have political experience, but I want to bring together the best minds and if I have the chance to win, I don’t know if my chance is small or big, but the best minds, from the most diverse parties for the Brazil of our dreams. I’ll only try once, it’s my part of contribution.”
In his talk to an audience made up mainly of women, Cury spoke about “Mental health in agriculture: how to protect the minds of leaders in a high-pressure sector”, told passages about the life of Jesus Christ and meditated with the audience. At the end, more than a hundred participants in the meeting lined up to take photos with the writer.
The agricultural fair in Rio Verde brings together around 700 exhibitors until Friday (10) at the CTC (Comigo Technological Center). Organized by the Comigo cooperative, it is expected to at least repeat the 140,000 visitors from last year’s edition.
Cury also stated that he will not use party funds in his campaign.
“Two of the mottos, the cheapest campaign, we will not use party funds. Peaceful, the most peaceful. The most intelligent, perhaps, and the most focused on purposes, projects, in the history of Brazil, 100% projects. How many % of personal attacks? Zero. Is it romanticism? I am a romantic person, I like to educate people, it is my role as an educator”, he stated.
When talking about the main problems to be tackled in the country, Cury said that 8 million young people are “hopeless” in Brazil because they do not study or work and that it is necessary to create an environment for them to learn how to develop companies and have equal opportunities.
He also stated that it is necessary to reduce the statistics of feminicides in the country and legalize housing in communities, so that owners can use the deeds to have “belonging” and can use it to finance their own businesses.
Born in Colina, in the interior of São Paulo, Cury is a psychiatrist at the Faculty of Medicine of São José do Rio Preto. Author of self-help works, he is the creator of the Theory of Multifocal Intelligence, with books published in 70 countries. It has more than 25 million copies sold in Brazil alone.
In 2022, Avante had launched the federal deputy (today in Rede-MG), but, with a few months to go, he withdrew his candidacy, deciding to support Lula for a third term.
