Ipea revised upwards its GDP growth projection for this year. The new forecast is for an increase of 1.8%.
The data appears in the new edition of the General Vision of the Situation, a quarterly bulletin, which will be released this Thursday (9).
In the last edition, Ipea predicted growth of 1.6% in the Brazilian economy. According to the institute, the review reflects a warmer start to the year than expected.
However, the scenario is still marked by external uncertainties, mainly amid the war in the Middle East.
Despite the better economic projection, Ipea maintained its inflation estimate at 4.2% for 2026.
