The Labor Office in Galant has recorded three mass layoffs in this district since the beginning of the calendar year. At the end of March, a company engaged in the production of plastic packaging was added, which reported 52 threatened jobs. This follows from the information provided to TASR by the press and communication department of the Labor, Social Affairs and Family Headquarters.
At the turn of February and March, the company Samsung Electronics Slovakia announced the decision to end the operation of its TV production plant in Galanta. Following this, a company engaged in the production of plastic components, which is located near Galanta, also reported mass layoffs. Since the beginning of the year, the Labor Center has registered 1,068 job positions threatened by mass layoffs in the Galanta district.
