The president of the (Supreme Federal Court), said this Friday (10) that the calls will be defined “with fiscal responsibility and respect for the judiciary”.
The minister stated that the body, also chaired by Fachin, seeks to comply with the decisions of the STF and declared that, if there are benefits beyond those foreseen by the court, they will be cut.
“The first and last word on this matter is that of the plenary session of the Federal Supreme Court. Therefore, the resolution of the National Council of Justice and the National Council of , which is of the same content, seek to comply with the determinations of the Federal Supreme Court. If there is any issue that is going beyond what the Federal Supreme Court decided or understands to be part of its decision, obviously we will cut it,” said Fachin, at an event at the Rio de Janeiro Court of Justice.
“We want to bring order to this matter. We are going to bring order rationally, with fiscal responsibility and, at the same time, with respect for the judiciary, with respect for the lives of people who often work in challenging conditions, why not say in unsafe conditions, who judge organized crime, judge drug trafficking, provide daily service to the community. Therefore, we want to combine respect for the functional ceiling with respect for the judiciary”, he stated.
The regulation of benefits by the CNJ and the CNMP (National Council of the Public Ministry) aimed to standardize the limits to the restrictions defined by the Supreme Court, but, in practice, it also ended up providing for the creation of new payments.
