After building support platforms in at least 20 states, ()’s pre-campaign began to focus on structuring a political and communications team to explore the attrition of the government (PT) and.
The idea is to avoid radicalization, which was considered one in previous campaigns. For this reason, politicians and marketers who surround Flávio have said that the senator should expose his profile, which they consider conciliatory in comparison to that of his father, the former president (PL), .
In recent weeks, Flávio hired marketers for the campaign and can still expand the team. The senator dismissed advisor Fernando Nascimento Pessoa, responsible for his social media strategy, from his office to work exclusively in the election.
strategy specialist Marcos Carvalho, from AM4, also joined the team and should be in charge of planning, management and production of materials, using data intelligence.
Carvalho worked on Bolsonaro’s campaign in 2018 and Lula’s campaign in 2022, in the final stretch of the second round.
Flávio’s allies are still looking for an experienced marketer to coordinate communication and the pieces to be shown on TV, among all parties. But, according to politicians close to the senator, there is no rush to fill this position, which could even become vacant.
Talks were advanced with Paulo Vasconcelos, considered a favorite among Flávio’s allies. Vasconcelos, however, works with the former governor of Goiás (), who was chosen as a candidate for President by the president of the PSD, Gilberto Kassab. Therefore, the marketer must be responsible for Caiado’s campaign strategy.
Another option that was considered is strategist Jorge Gerez, who served the governor of Paraná, (PSD), for 14 years. After Ratinho gave up running for President of the Republic, Gerez met with coordinators of Flávio’s campaign.
Those who participated in the meeting say that Gerez is a good professional, but he probably will not be chosen for this position, even though he could contribute to the campaign in other ways.
The marketer states that Brazilian voters seek change and, therefore, advocates that Flávio present a project for the future. Gerez told the team that the senator has a chance of winning in the first round if he doesn’t make mistakes, such as picking fights and focusing on attacking Lula instead of defending good proposals.
From January until the end of last month, Flávio’s pre-campaign strategy was also created by publicist Sergio Lima, Bolsonaro’s marketer in the 2022 campaign, who left the team. On the occasion, he released a note stating that he respected the decision and demanding respect among communications professionals.
“I respect the decision, I wish everyone much success. This doesn’t mean I’m going to go around saying I’m voting for the opposing candidate,” he said.
Lima is also a supporter of the thesis that Flávio should talk to voters outside his bubble and avoid the clashes waged by his father.
Another name that could formally integrate Flávio’s campaign is that of publicist Marcello Lopes, who is a friend of Flávio and even attends the same church as the senator, who is linked to the Community of Nations, run by Bishop JB Carvalho.
For now, Marcellão, as he is known, has only given informal advice to the senator, but is considering formally joining the campaign team. The publicist is part of Flávio’s team of allies who say they are betting on the senator’s decline in rejection, arguing that his considered style is authentic and not part of a character.
Bolsonaro’s eldest son’s team also had conversations with marketer Pablo Nobel, but there are doubts about the feasibility of him reconciling the senator’s presidential campaign and that of the governor of , (Republicans), to which he has already committed.
Flávio’s campaign coordinator will be senator Rogério Marinho (PL-RN), responsible for putting together the government plan and dispersing candidates from the PL or the right aligned with Bolsonarism to run for state governments and the Senate.
the PL has pre-candidates for governor in 12 states, including large electoral colleges such as Rio de Janeiro and Rio Grande do Sul.
Alliances are also underway with other parties in six states and the Federal District. Five of them are from the federation between União Brasil and PP, parties that Flávio works to bring into his alliance arc.
Already in the Senate, pro- ministers of the (Supreme Federal Court) and gain control of the House in 2027. Between names from the PL and allied parties, there are more than 50 possible candidates from the Bolsonarist right.
According to the former president’s calculations, up to 35 candidates from this group could be elected, which would make the opposition to Lula exceed 41 of the 81 seats in the Senate.
