Datafolha: Lula and Flávio are leaders in rejection – 04/11/2026 – Politics

In the so-called election of rejections, (PT) and () are also leading in the dispute for the Presidency in October. 48% of voters declare that they will not vote for the current president, compared to 46% who say the same about the senator from Rio.

It is a highly consolidated picture, especially because both figures are well known. Lula is universally so, with 99% of those interviewed in the new survey on the presidential election saying they know who he is.

Flávio, who was anointed from prison by Lula’s father and predecessor, who is now under house arrest serving 27 years for a coup attempt, is already a name known to 93% of Brazilians.

This is the scenario heard by 2,004 people over the age of 16 in 137 cities, from Tuesday (7) to Thursday (9). The margin of error in the survey, registered with the Electoral Court under code BR-03770/2026, is plus or minus two points.

The two rivals on the right trying to take Flávio’s place in a possible second round, the former governors () and (Novo) have identical advantages when the growth potential of both is evaluated observing the binomial rejection/knowledge.

Novo from Minas Gerais records a 17% rejection rate, and 56% of voters say they don’t know him. 16% say they will not vote for the PSD from Goiás at all, but 54% say they do not know who he is.

It’s a combination that makes marketers’ mouths water when it comes to building a persona for a campaign, but it has the obvious downside: rejection tends to increase the more well-known the politician is.

In his favor, Caiado is much more involved in Gilberto Kassab’s party, and it remains to be seen whether the party will invest money in his campaign or prioritize disputes in Congress and states.

Zema, in turn, is seen by observers as a candidate for vice on the right, so much so that he is already being courted by both the PL and the PSD. Having been a governor of a small party re-elected in the second largest electoral college in the country, after São Paulo, he is evaluated as an important asset.
