what astronauts said in their first interview after returning

Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch and Jeremy Hansen, the four astronauts on the crew of the Artemis II mission, spoke about their space trip to the Moon at a press conference.

The event was broadcast live this Saturday, 11th, on the YouTube channel of the United States Aerospace Agency (Nasa). In addition to thanking the organization’s families and employees, the four spoke briefly about the experience.

Reid was the first to speak: “We are bonded forever. No one here will ever know what the four of us went through together. And it was the most special thing that ever happened in my life.”

Victor came next. “I would like to thank our leadership. And it has changed since we arrived here in April 2023, but the quality has not. And we are lucky to be at this agency [Nasa] at this moment, and together”, he stated.

Christina reflected on her view of space: “What struck me wasn’t necessarily just the Earth, it was all the darkness around it. The Earth was just a lifeboat sailing undisturbed in the universe.”

Jeremy closed the first statements: “When you look at us here, you are not looking at us. We are a mirror reflecting you. And if you like what you see, then look a little closer. This is you.”

There were also moments of good humor, like when Reid said he planned to eat at a fast food chain soon, or when Jeremy joked that he “haven’t been this far away” from Wiseman in a long time when they were on opposite sides of the stage. The colleague got up and sat next to him.
