Trump says nuclear issue is “the only thing that really matters”

The President of the United States, Donald Trump, published a series of messages on social media this Sunday (12), stating that the only point that “really mattered” in negotiations with the Iranians was the nuclear issue.

The statement comes after 21 hours of negotiations between the US and Iran, in which, according to US Vice President JD Vance, both sides

“So that’s it, the meeting went well, most of the points were agreed upon, but the only point that really mattered, the , was not,” Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social this Sunday (12).

“I could go into detail and talk about a lot of things that were agreed upon, but there is only one thing that matters: IRAN IS NOT WILLING TO GIVE UP ITS GUNS!”, stated the Republican in a second post on social media.

“In many ways, the points that have been agreed upon are better than continuing our military operations to completion, but all of these points pale in comparison to allowing nuclear energy to be in the hands of such volatile, difficult and unpredictable people,” he added.

A CNN had already reported that, for Washington, Tehran’s refusal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and to give up its stock of highly enriched uranium were non-negotiable points during the negotiations.
